Do the players have roommates on road trips? Or is that just Spring Training?

One of the coolest memories I had was when my high school played against him in the first round of CIF in 2008. I was nearly picked off twice by him at first base because I hadn’t seen a dude that tall on the mound with that type of pickoff. He probably had the filthiest curveball ever in HS too. When he was drafted my buddies and I were pretty excited for him knowing “Yo we just faced this guy...that’s crazy” and we still talk about it to this day. Dude was an absolute stud and one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Keep flying, Ty!

I was really hoping I would wake up and it would all be a dream.RIP Tyler. It was an honor to have you with the Halos, and you represented this organization well. He was about to turn that corner and turn into a dominant TORP.

 

This feels like a gut punch. Like many have said, baseball is so meaningless at this point. Yesterday I was obsessing over the wild card hunt and overanalyzing the 7 games until the break. Now the playoffs don’t feel important

As a pitcher, it could be something as simple as a blood clot that developed in his shoulder and then went to his lungs.  There are a million things, really it doesn't matter what it was, it is tragic and it sucks.  It just shouldn't happen.

Thank you all for observing 30 minutes of silence this morning in remembering Tyler Skaggs. 

It's crucial to take a minute or two away from Angels Baseball and life's craziness and focus on what's important.

If you were away during the 9-9:30am PST half hour I shut things down so that we could have some moments of silence on this forum.

For the day I have removed the header and footer ads and replaced the leaderboard ad with memorial picture of Tyler Skaggs.

It actually depends Tank.  Autopsy results could be available quite soon for obvious death.  Toxicology results could take weeks.  So usually if drug use is suspected (and I am NOT AT ALL insinuating it was) the results of the autopsy may not be released to the public until they come back.  That's usually the case in that kind of matter

To "put it charitably" would have to say nothing at all, rather than to imply there was something tawdry in the manner of his passing, mocking someone who's upset about the way a sports network covered the story, and, diminishing the accomplishments of someone who just died, the team he played for, and the teammates he played with.

They dont have roommates for either. Some of the really young guys in the minors might split rooms, to save money. But everyone at the MLB level gets their own room.

It’s really gotta be hard for both teams to play. I cannot imagine what they all are going through. I do have to give props to the Rangers for how supportive they’ve been. It can be “expected” for them to be sympathetic, but seeing Woodward and Daniels yesterday during the press conference, they were pretty shook up as well.

Honestly I’m not sure why they’re playing.  It seems like they should have just cancelled the series.  They can play double headers in August.
