With 29 games left until the deadline... While most national media outlets think they should sell, and references 2023 like it's a cautionary tale, they just bought the wrong guys that year and had horrid injury luck. Plus Phil Nevin managing...anyway, what if they buy? I'd say the decision to sell or buy will be clearer after say 20 of these 29 games, and what their record and positioning in the wild card / division race is. Houston is winning despite injuries and I can't see that continue, but they also always seem to have the Angels number. They do not face Houston in this 29 game stretch. They have 17 games at home and 12 on the road. There are games against…

The college baseball season started today and the Angels have the 2nd pick. I know it’s a little early for a draft thread but with the Angels drafting this early we could use a thread to talk about the prospects.

Hello, I'm a new guy here and not really an Angels fan, but don't worry... I'm not one of those guys to come here and try to stir up trouble. I'm not an Angels fan, but I'm a huge fan of Mike Trout and his talent. Unfortunately, the injuries have played huge part of his career as of late. Question... Has he raised his hands when he's hitting? I don't remember his hands ever being that high. I could be totally wrong but I was curious. Thanks guys

In episode 53 Chuck Richter has Taylor Blake Ward from the Sporting Tribune to talk about the upcoming amateur draft this Sunday and the mid-season Top-30 Angels prospects list that he compiled and wrote for Baseball America. The guys talk who the Angels may pick with their #2 overall pick, some sleeper picks who the club may select in the first round, as well as possible selections in rounds 2-4. Taylor Blake Ward talked about the Angels farm system, some prospect & player news and why he placed the Halos prospects where he did. Dig right in as there was a lot covered in episode 53. YouTube

my daughter and i are going to wednesday's game, and she's interested in stopping by brewery x in the right field corner. we've looked for a menu online but can only seem to find the food truck one, which isn't terribly helpful. have any of you eaten there? impressions? anyone remember anything vegetarian being on the menu? it looks like the food truck offers a grilled cheese, tempura green beans, and fried pickles, so we're wondering if those are things the restaurant also offers. appreciate any help anyone can give.

ANAHEIM — Hunter Strickland’s contributions are going to be limited to what he can provide in the clubhouse for a while. The veteran right-hander was diagnosed with a “significant strain” in a muscle in his shoulder, he said on Wednesday. Strickland underwent a second round of MRI exams on Wednesday. “It doesn’t require surgery, which is the best, but it’s significant time,” Strickland said. The Angels moved Strickland to the 60-day injured list, making him ineligible to return until September. Strickland is hoping to do just that. Strickland, 36, pitched all of last season with the Angels. He signed a minor-league deal over the winter with the Texas Rangers, who rele…

Okay, I'm in a lot of pain, and am going on about 24 hours of no sleep due to I (don't panic, it's not that serious, just 2.5 months with deep scrapes that aren't healing and may require antibiotics). Rules are simple if you want to pkay: You can only select players that you saw play while they were on the Angels.. My first game that I can distinctly remember was when my cousin took the train down to visit my grandparents and we all went to go see Ryab pitch. I remember the old school frosted malt with tbe wooden dowel for a spoon. It was horrible, but as a kid, I was in heaven! 1. Erstad (1B) ². Trout (CF) ³.VLAD {aRF) …

What say you? When he's at his best he sure flashes top of the rotation stuff. He sure has flashed #1 starter stuff against the A's, Yankees and Astros in his last three starts. José Soriano is the first Halos pitcher with 6.2+ IP & one-or-fewer runs allowed in three straight starts since Hector Santiago from June 28 - July 10, 2015. Soriano is also the first Angels pitcher with 28+ strikeouts in a three-game span since Shohei Ohtani (28 SO from April 27 - May 9, 2023).

I know we have a gaping hole at third base, but this guy could be the answer to our problems. Not only does he have serious pop, but he is close to major league ready. I know a lot of people want us to draft Arquette to fill that hole, but Murakami is also another option. Granted I am sure there will be a lot of competition for him, but I imagine the Angels will be one of his top targets and we will have the cap room. What are your thoughts?

ANAHEIM — José Soriano has spent the season tantalizing the Angels with how good he can be and puzzling them with how bad he can be. He was both in the Angels’ 13-1 loss to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, a game so ugly that infielder Kevin Newman pitched the final three innings. Soriano began the game with three scoreless, hitless innings. In the fourth, he gave up five runs on three walks and three hits. He didn’t return for the fifth. That was pretty much the ballgame on a night when the Angels had to deal with Rangers ace Nathan Eovaldi. He dropped his ERA to 1.62 by allowing one unearned run in six innings. As for Soriano, his ERA now stands at an even 4.00 a…

He's earned it, put him back n2 rotation, worth the test. Added to Kick, more power with LHP there. Yet, I'm sure u all disagree with me there.

ANAHEIM — Yoán Moncada was ready to come back, even before waiting for his knee to be totally pain free. “I’m not 100%, but the knee doesn’t feel as bad,” Moncada said through an interpreter after he was activated from the injured list on Tuesday. Moncada has been out since June 2 with right knee inflammation. His progress was slow for a few weeks. He didn’t even cross the final threshold – hitting from the right side – until last week. Moncada played just three exhibition games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. He was 4 for 9 with a home run and four walks. He played six innings at third base on Saturday and a full nine on Monday night, and then he was in An…

I know there's been some chatter in the Prospects thread about him but I think he deserves his own thread. What is everyone's thoughts about given Stevens a shot next? I'm guessing if Neto goes on the IL, or at the deadline and one or two of Moncada/Rengifo are dealt? He can play 3B, SS, 2B, LF and RF. Played one game at 1B. I was he's looked good at 3B, SS and in LF. Thoughts?

The Angels Pythagorean W-L is: 39-49, 379 Runs Scored / 428 Runs Allowed = -49 run differential 4.53 Total ERA - 24th 4.11 Starter ERA 5.06 Reliever ERA Team has only 2 decent starters and a decent enough back end of the bullpen with Detmers and Jansen. Other than that, the pitching is just not there. .297 OBP - 26th .701 team OPS - 21st Most of the scoring is done VIA solo shots cause the team is abysmal at getting on base. They are currently playing with only 6 batters who are competent, 5 if you count O'Hoppe. Stevens, Rengifo, Wade/Compero/Soler are pretty much auto-outs. So, opposing teams really just have to figure out how to get…

ANAHEIM — A week after Robert Stephenson began to throw, he felt well enough to try again. The Angels relief pitcher said the beginning of his throwing program last Monday didn’t go as well as hoped, so he took another week off. After trying again seven days later, the right-hander was encouraged. “It definitely feels a lot better, especially today,” Stephenson said. “Just from from last Monday, it feels a lot better, and I’m really encouraged by it. So I feel like I can actually fully start to ramp up now. Before I was kind of nervous about even throwing, but it feels good today.” Stephenson was out only 13 months from Tommy John surgery before returning to the mound …
