The legendary two-sport star was awarded the hefty sum after an extortion attempt coordinated by his niece and nephew, according to mulitple reports.

As part of the decision that was handed down on Feb. 2 in Cobb County, Georgia, a permanent protective order bars Thomas Lee Anderson and his sister, Erica M. Anderson Ross, from further contacting Jackson and his immediate family members.

Jackson, 61, previously accused the two of “relentless harassment and intimidation” in attempting to extort around $20 million.

The poster boy for the value of predictive data has hung up his cleats. 

SD will end up paying all but 720K of the 144 mil they signed him for, in exchange they received 596 games of .265/.325/.411 offense.  Despite his retirement, the Padres will be paying him 13 mil in 24 and 25 after guaranteeing the options years in order to trade him.

One of the weirdest profiles of his time   Weak OBP, weak power, plus glove at a premium hitting position.

Nice nice. Happy belated birthday. On a side note - Signed up for it last week. I was under the impression the FREE TRIAL was for a month. However it was only for a week. Not sure why they don't clarify this. Had a similar issue when I was a college student, and received the college student discount. However it was only for a month. 

Other than that, I was rock hard during the sign up. Knowing baseball was starting.

It was a huge scam. I was surprised it lasted for as long as it did without some legal interference. They basically locked people into a forever contract that required them to buy an album a month, and send back, at their own expense, any CDs or tapes they received whether they ordered them or not or be in contract violation and had to pay ridiculous fines.

If you have Tmobile, they usually give it out for free during one of the Tmobile Tuesday's close to the start of the season

Yankees beat the Tigers 22-10 today.  The teams combined for only 24 hits, despite scoring 32 runs.  There were a combined 23 walks.  Yikes.
