Gameday Thread (4/24/24 1:07pm): Orioles @ Angels: Anderson on the mound, Trout @ DH, still no Drury

Recommended Posts

Hicks is taking the series off. Which is fine but Moniak has been no better at the plate.

Four players with an OPS .820 or greater in the 1,3,5 and 7 spots to keep the offense going. With Rengifo hitting steadily and Schanuel and Neto heating up, they could score some runs today.

Good to see O'Hoppe hitting before Moniak today.

Let's Go Halos

I’d also put Adell before Moniak.

Have to be getting closer to time to limit Moniak’s starts?   Fast sinking towards sub .400 OPS

Moniak and Hicks supplying virtually nothing

They should be refilling the water jug in the dugout.

Getting closer to time to IL Drury?

Although they are already somewhat short handed.

Yeah, if he does need to go to the IL, we're right back where we were with the Adrianza call-up: there's really no one.  Stefanic still isn't ready.  The only other infielder currently on the 40-man is Kyren Paris and he's stinking it up at Rocket City so far.  At AAA, it's sickening: total castoffs like Cole Tucker, Hunter Dozier, Jack Lopez, Willie Calhoun, Elliot Soto, or Charles Leblanc.  Doubt they'd do something super aggressive like adding Fontenelle, especially since he's had a bit of a slow start at AA, too (though he is walking a lot).

I could see Jason Martin recalled to replace Hicks if he doesn't start contributing soon.

Do they really need a 5th OF, though?  Hicks is obviously dead weight, but feels like if they cut him, it won't necessarily be to add another OF, especially a random off-season depth pickup.
