    That’s crazy. It’s not like it was his first home run in the Majors, or even a milestone homer. It was his first home run on a new team. The ball should really go into the Hall of Who Gives a Fuck.

    I more excited about the start of this season than last. Last year the focus was on Ohtani staying or leaving. This year, the focus will be on all of the young guys. It’s about the team. Win or lose, that is a more interesting story.

    I wonder how Trout’s September conversation with ownership went. I can’t imagine Arte said “Mike, we are going with a smaller budget.” And Trout was ok with it.

    There has to be some mental skill involved to sit on the bench when the rest of the team is in the field. Knowing you only get 4 or 5 chances to actually contribute to the game night after night. There must be some discipline involved to stay engaged. Probably not a position that some players can handle.

    Empire puts the heroes in the most trouble and has the darkest moments. It feels like all is lost which is important to story. A New Hope sets up so much for the future, yet stands alone as a movie. I will take Empire for the win.

    Shohei made $30 million from the Angels in ‘23, plus endorsements. Uses that money to fund the rest of his playing life while letting the Dodgers defer payment so they can spend at will for the next ten years on other top tier players. Kind of genius. But… Shohei is kind of a dick.

    The bigger question is, will Dodger fans boo him when he goes 1-4 with two strikeouts at the plate and is unable to get out of the 3rd inning as a pitcher in the same game?

    Harper is clutch. I wonder what it’s like to have someone on your team that steps up in big moments. This is probably going to be the best series of the entire Post Season.

    I also like the longer episodes. The conversations don’t seem so rushed and it still has the feeling of three friends just shooting the breeze. It might be fun to take the off season and invite some of the forum members on to talk about themselves, how they became fans, memories, their lives and such. It would be cool to know everyone beyond their screen names and smart ass posts.
