I think you have to take a chance and roll a dice with Ryu. He's the best pitcher available a potential 1/2 in any rotation. The injuries are the knock on him, but of the 6 years  he has gone over 100 innings in 4 of them, 3 of which he went over 150 innings. Take a shot, i actually think a 4th year with either a lower AAv or deferred money in the contract could do the deal. Either offer, 3yr at 14, 17 and 19 or 4yrs 50 mil with added bonus or a 4 yrs 70 mil with some of it deferred.

I’m not disappointed about Miley being off the board, but I’m disappointed to see teams continue to grab pitching while Angels aren’t.

A coworker told me today that he is friends with Rick Porcello's brother, and that he received offers from both LA teams. They were low-ball 1+1 deals, so he decided to stay close to home on a one year deal with the Mets, and hopes to build up his value and go FA next year.

Perhaps the silver lining is that it reduces the potential suitors. I'd guess the Reds are now done with SP as are Yankees, Phillies, Rangers, etc.
