No surprise the one acquisition I liked this offseason is doing well If Gio can post a .280 ish average with 15 home runs that’s perfectly fine out of that spot Renfroe Rendon and Rengifo is going to be a real problem for this team

Good for him. These idiots think they’re untouchable because they’re sitting behind a rail. I’ll ALWAYS side with the athlete in these type of incidents.

I assume my yearly prediction post will be deleted as usual Team record: 76-86 This will be Perry’s final season and hopefully Arte will sell the team. Hopefully they’re smart enough to realize they need to trade Ohtani instead of losing him and getting nothing in return

Why would anyone want Ohtani extended? This team needs so much help and they can’t afford to pay Ohtani 500 million while fielding a competitive team And spare me the Arte budget crap. If you can see there’s a limit by now then you deserve Arte as the owner

Welp they better trade Ohtani now. It is extremely clear Arte has a limit. This team cannot be competitive while paying Trout and Ohtani roughly 80 mill a season If they sign Ohtani to a massive extension it’ll be the Angels funeral

Our offseason would be a lot better if Perry went out and got a legit shortstop. This whole mix/match thing, with injuries and the shortstop position being Fletcher is going to get old quick. Renfroe, Urshela and Drury are all nice but we still need that everyday shortstop. We also need another starting pitcher but the fact Perry hasn’t done anything about that or SS yet doesn’t exactly make it seem like it was ever a priority

Don’t need to. After they miss out on the playoffs again this season new ownership will want to get their own people in management roles

Fangraphs projections has Drury’s projected WAR at 1.6 Urshela at 1.2, Renfroe at 2.0 For a grand total of 4.8 WAR And in 2023 these guys are set to make a combined total of 29.75 million… Big yikes.

We desperately need a SP and SS. Ohtani, Anderson, Sandoval, Detmers and Suarez isn’t enough rotation wise. Not even close. As far as shortstops go I want Gleyber but I doubt that happens

Again, good for Cohen. But now the MLB has a super team problem on their hands. Much like the NBA. There’s a handful of teams that are willing to spend and they have. Now more than ever 162 game regular season seems beyond pointless.

Well they haven’t finished above .500 since 2015 so what about the other 6 seasons? Like I said, it’s the same song and dance every off season with so many of you. You guys get in your feelings when someone suggests that this team still stinks. As it stands right now Perry hasn’t done enough to change that. We were a 73 win team last season. 73. We got a MVP season from Ohtani. Sandoval and Detmers were pretty damn good. I’m not sure Sandy and Detmers perform as good as they did last year. No one is expecting Anderson to do what he did last season. Heck, Anderson himself doesn’t even think so or he wouldn’t have signed for that price. I could go on but there’s really no point. Perry is clearly out of money. He’ll need to get creative and make a trade. Problem is we don’t exactly have much to trade. I can’t imagine Perry wants to part with O’Hoppe or Neto. So many of us have said the Angels need to spend their way out of this mess. Arte has refused to do that. Hopefully it’ll be different with the new owners but until then it’ll be the same old this season.

Lmao they were NOT a good team last year. Yeah it was really hard to predict that Rendon and Trout would miss time once again. Spoiler alert, they’ll miss time again this year too

The bar has been set so low around here. Arte has stayed the course. Slapped a few band-aids on a couple of positions and hope for some magical turn around. I also wouldn’t expect the new owners to come in and immediately start spending either. They’ll probably try to retain Ohtani (hopefully dealt at deadline) but I think the spending will start the year after. Since we’re going the band-aid route I do hope we end up with Segura. Clubhouse chemistry yada yada, the best thing for clubhouse chemistry is winning and at this point he’s the best remaining player to help achieve that

You guys do this every year. It’s hilarious. Last year my total win prediction post kept getting deleted because it’s viewed as “trolling”. Funny thing is I predicted they’d win 4 more games than they actually did. This year as it stands right now is very similar to last.
