  1. The Dodgers will have a strangle hold on the Japanese market for the next 10-12 years because of these two signings. I expect them to be in the running for every major talent that is posted because they've got the money and the market. 2 opt out options for Yamamoto, a $50 million dollar signing bonus, and no deferments. Insane deal for him without ever throwing a pitch in MLB.
  2. The Dodgers' have been planning for this offseason for awhile now. I'm honestly impressed with their management.
  3. If this turns into a slow leak to the media of how difficult it was to adjust to Ohtani, how the players weren't comfortable, etc.. thats fucking pathetic. He moved on; its time to move on too. It looks very bitter and immature on our end if this shit starts leaking out. Nobody said a single negative thing about him when he was here for 6 yeears; don't fucking start doing it now.
  4. Fuck Arte for not trading him. That prospect haul could've been a nice boost to the farm system; even if it was a 1/2 year rental.
  5. This. There is no way in hell the Dodgers gave him that contract without full disclosure of his medicals. Also, isn't the surgeon who performed the surgery like the head of the Dodgers medical staff?
  6. 100% this. I don't fault Arte for not matching the contract; it just sucks knowing that the offer was there to match it lol. No guarantee he still would've picked us had Arte said yes BUT I fail to see why at this point; any Angel fan would fault him or hate him for leaving. We didn't win with him; we weren't going to win with him on this contract. Too many holes to fill.
  7. The Rays usually win trades...Dodgers going all in. Wonder if they pulled the trigger now because they got news on Yamamoto? Or wonder if they pulled it with the Yamamoto deal having no impact on their decision making.
  8. I saw on Reddit that Bobby also said he believes the Angels' were given a chance to match but it was too expensive for Arte, he believes?
  9. For the record, social media following tracking is 100x more stupid than flight tracking. What the hell has happened to society...
  10. Take it for whatever its worth LMAO. Ohtani used teh WBC to recruit to the Dodgers. The guys morphing into the final Villain.
  11. Even if I wasn't comfortable with Bieber being healthy; I'd make that trade. Adell has had multiple opportunities and hasn't proven shit at the MLB level. It would probably cost more than Jo Adell, though.
  12. The only right answer to this question was to trade him. It was very clear we didn't have the pieces or the talent to make a run, no matter if we tried or not. The Padres dd the right thing by trading Soto. We should've traded him. Too late, time to move on.
  13. I just want to know what the hell happened to Rendon’s power. I know he was never a big HR guy but where are the XBH? Is it all injury related?
  14. Well I should have said Arte. We was a reference tO the Angels, more specifically the asshole in charge.
  15. I know you're being sarcastic but not all these dudes are making $40-60 million a year in endorsement and marketing deals. Yamamoto, if he lives up to the hype, could probably make a pretty chunk every year in endorsement deals. No one is exactly lining up to put Blake Snell all over everything lol.

  17. Which is why he left for a winning team lol. He has always been very clear that winning was his #1 priority. This isn't the NBA or NFL where 1/2 players can make your team a championship level team. I personally believe if the NL had the DH when he signed with us, he would've signed with the Dodgers. Whatever, its a moot point. He gave us 6 years and we've failed to make the playoffs every single time because we can't construct a playoff caliber roster, develop a farm, and can't get lucky breaks with injuries. Hell, we've made the playoffs once with Trout. Staying in Anaheim would've been silly for Ohtani. We were all banking on him being comfortable here and hoping that would sway him towards us.
  18. I'll be absolutely shocked if Yamamoto isn't a Dodger by the end of the week. Shohei was open to deferring a large chunk of money for these reasons.
