To me it is weird the Scherzer is still in the dugout, since he just pitched 6 innings of a 7 inning double header.  I thought he was only going to be traded if he worked out a deal ahead of time for an extension?  Maybe he had the groundwork for a deal before he took the mound?  Are we jumping the gun perhaps?  Seems odd that he would take the mound for the Nats if a deal was the close when he has to sign off on it, plus wants an extension.

Unless SD gets Him too. There was a report on MLB network today saying the Pads might be gunning for both. Personally, I think he’s going to Seattle. Dipoto is going to go for it I think.

3:24 pm: The teams have agreed on the players involved, pending medical reviews, according to Jim Bowden of the Athletic. Scherzer still needs to waive his no-trade rights, although recent reports suggested he’d be willing to do so to move to one of the NL West contenders.
