Jepsen traded to TB for Matt Joyce

people sure do have short memories. Jepsen was erratic at best almost his entire time here, and after having a nice first half in 2014 he was terrible towards the end of the year and in the playoffs. Good riddance.

 

A Joyce/Cron platoon at DH sounds good - Dipoto taking a page out of Bill Boy's playbook.

Funny, we wait out Jepsen for 13 years, then when he finally has a good year we trade him. 

 

we got as much out of him as we could. one good year out of thirteen is pretty darn patient on our part.

Why do I keep seeing Trout hitting 3rd in projected lineups?  Do you really think Scioscia is going to move Pujols to 4?  Did I miss something here?

In a straight platoon, Jeff is correct. 

 

Joyce will not face many if any lefties in 2015. His lifetime slash line against lefties is Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggly.

I personally don't see CJ Cron ever being a fulltime everyday player. 

He'll get a lot of playing time when Hamilton gets hurt.

Another solid move by Dipoto. Dealing from a position of strength, and there's not going to be a better opportunity to sell high on Jeppy. Would like to see Joyce hit 2nd if/when Hamilton flops. I was looking forward to seeing Cron get a full time shot this year. But, he'll still get plenty of playing time, as mentioned.
