Very strange. Why another outfielder with the likes of Hamilton, Trout, Calhoun, Cowgill and Krauss in the mix already?

Is this a precursor to another trade?

Hm, I like it! If Joyce is shielded against LHP, this could be a very good trade. Although I'd like to see the team add a reliever now.

Good move. Good plate discipline, decent power, will help replace the loss of Kendrick's run production. DH platoon with Cron hitting against LHP makes the most sense.

 

Couldn't do this without the emergence of Morin.

 

Hopefully Bedrosian is this years' Morin.

I know Jeppy, at times gave us headaches, but he had decent year.

 

I was kind of hoping they would leave the bullpen alone. Hopefully they have something else in the works.

The team needed to add a bat and even after dealing Diaz (a bad move IMO) there's still a surplus of relief depth. Street, Smith, Morin, Salas, Pestano, Ramos, Rasmus, Santiago, Bedrosian, Gott, Rucinski, Reynolds, McBryde. Sounds like they'll roll with Street, Smith, Morin, Salas, Pestano, Ramos, and Santiago? Try stretching Rasmus out in AAA. I'd be curious to see if they add a reliever now. Rest of the offseason might be very quiet for us after this move.

Yep, very solid move. Probably assures we get slightly better than league average production out of the DH and fourth outfielder spots. Instead of some scrub AAAA holding the spot, we have a bona fide major leaguer. I like it.

Nice move.  Solid DH/OF option.   Solid obp.  Some nice pop in his bat.  Not the best defender though.   He's basically Josh Hamilton for 25mil less.  Not sure if that means cowgill won't be sticking this year.
