Throw at Marisdick

Recommended Posts

I don't know...at this point, why poke the bear?  Astros are 2-3 since the All Star break and Angels have won 4 in a row...don't mess with a winning streak  They aren't likely sweeping the Astros in a 4 game series but they have a chance at sneaking 3 of 4 with TBA, Cole and Miley coming the rest of the series.

It's the way of the game. If he starts the game tomorrow he will get plunked in his first AB. Anyone who thinks different probably never played...or is a vegan.

I don’t know about that. They certainly can’t afford to have a pitcher ejected at the beginning of the game or suspended. They may throw at him sometime, but there are other factors that determine when and who.

I don't know how the players viewed this, and they may have a different opinion, but when Marisnick immediately went to Lucroy after the play to check on him and genuinely looked concerned on the field while Lucroy was being carted off might show that he had at least some remorse for how Lucroy ended up. And, not that this is a big deal, but he also tweeted that he felt awful about it.

It would be much different if he was celebrating the run, pumping his fist, jumping up and down to the dugout, without showing any concern for Lucroy. Then you plunk him.

The realization that he had F’d up!

Why ruin what’s going on right now for this. I also think the idea that you haven’t played baseball if you don’t think you throw at him is asinine. I played for 17 years and still think it’s ridiculous given that we’ll have a pitcher ejected and we don’t have anything to spare. Also it could end up igniting the Astros who are 2-3 over their last 5. Just not worth it at all right now.

Wait until Lucroy is back and get HIM to throw the pitch. That way you don't waste a pitcher and Lucroy gets his own revenge ?

Extremely Dissapointed that nothing was done on his 1st at bat and to top it off  that POS singled

Heaney getting ejected in the second inning would have totally been worth it.
