Calhoun is more or less signed through 2019 with a 1M buyout in 2020 so if he doesn't snap out of it financially that's a bit easier to swallow, at least in terms of of the ridiculous amounts of money professional athletes make.  The fact I'm guessing Glen's post is meant snap Upton out of this early funk aside 2017 Justin Upton was arguably career year Upton or it was at the very least the 2nd best season of his career.  He set a career high in HR, RBI, SLG and OPS while he had the second highest OBP and OPS+ in his career.  Anyone expecting him to best that in 2018 or at any point over the 5 year extension could be in for disappointment.  Given his production up through 2017, his age and the length of the extension I think there's a better than good chance that by the time the contract is up most fans will agree it was worth it.  Onto Houston.

Calhoun is having issues with his exit velocity.
