Not all of his income is sourced to NY. Professional athletes have to pay taxes based on where they play the games so half of his income is in NY then the rest is sourced to the other states he plays in. Someone signing with a Texas or Florida team isn’t getting out of paying state income taxes.

According to what the nationals owner said before signing Strasburg they couldn’t afford to keep both Strasburg and Rendon. Perhaps it was BS but only time will tell.

Understand that, he is paying taxes along the East Coast and Toronto! Which will be higher than the West.
