As much as I want the Angels to sign him, there's no way it makes sense at these numbers. We aren't a team who needs one player to win a WS. We need more offense, more pitching, more arms...That money would be better served spread around.

Whoever said the Yankees are rushing to shed money is also way off base. They free up $90m next year. The luxury threshold they're concerned with is the $248m number so they don't lose draft picks. They can sign Cole and still be under it, but they probably don't want to exceed it. They also have to trade Happ because they already have 5 starters and that guy Montgomery. Adding Cole means someone gotta go. Hate them, but if you think money is an issue, you're being ludicrous.

I love the argument about players not wanting to play somewhere. Like who would want to play in New York? Stuck in traffic on a stupid effing island all the time in Manhattan, go to a Yankees game and the majority of the fans couldn't name a single player in the team. The ones that are fans are absolute garbage. Why pick in a park that's specifically designed to make routine fly balls into HR's?

And who the heck would want to play for the Angels. That stadium sucks, and they always lose.....n stuff. And the stadium never fills up until the 3rd inning and even then half the fans are from the opposition. Come August when school is going back in session and they're 30 game out of first place, there might be a couple thousand in attendance. Tops. And Mike Trout doesn't care about winning, and Shohei Ohtani doesn't speak English.... So he's basically a terrorist.
