No I think that the Yankees have given Cole an offer that they feel is reasonable that included a Yankees history lesson. That offer will probably get pulled off the table to allow the Yankees to go another direction. They have a lot of tradable assets to fill their SP needs. Arte will probably land Cole today for 7 / 265-285. I think the Yankees will be out today.

Seeing that the Yanks are trying to trade Happ to free up a little money for Cole shows that they are at or near their limit despite the argument that they have endless money.

Perhaps, but the timing of this is odd to me. Happ is owed $17mil next year with a vesting option for ‘21. Won’t be the easiest to move in my opinion.
