Heck, even the Doyers had a nice, yet brief tribute and moment of silence.  Makes me despise them a little less...for now.  There's video of it on the At Bat app for yesterday's game.

Watching that video reminds me of how much more immediate and real this is for the players than it is for the fans. I know we experience grief and loss, but not like those guys - or his family.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but Albert Pujols went through this with Darryl Kile.  He was the one who brought out Kile's jersey when they won in the playoffs.  I can't help but think this is difficult and all too familiar for him, even if Kile died 17 years ago.  A young unexpected death is just so heartbreaking.

A lot of these guys are still destroyed. Was going to mention it earlier, some of the guys who arent with the team anymore but were close with him are in a weird zone. They lost the same friend, but arent part of the group, so to speak.

Along those same lines, been wondering where Sosh is at. Not physically, but mentally.

Im sure his first instinct was to get on a plane and fly to texas. But Im sure he sees it as its not his team anymore, and out of respect, will let ausmus do his job.

But its got to be killing him. Long time relationship as a kind of father figure for a lot of these guys. Im sure hes talked to a lot of them,  but probably staying back, waiting for them to reach out if they want to.

Obviously you know the players are devastated. But think about all the behind the scenes people... long time staff types. Rick Smith. Nevela. Guys like that. Lots of relationships in an organization this big. The clubhouse guys. All the rehab staff. Etc etc.

At least with the team all together, they can lean on each other. Theyll go from ok to breaking down out of nowhere for awhile. But at least theyre together. The guys who arent there have it worse i think.

I kind of doubt it, but don't know for sure.  It's a pretty simple design though.  I'm sure any patch shop could recreate it for you.

Some patch places on eBay are but it's not the samw, I just assumed it'd go to a charity or something

They released an Adenhart patch, after the season, with proceeds to charity.  Might be a decent way to fund any charities he cared about.  

I bought one for just to kind of acknowledge that, you know, his passing meant something to me, but could never actually put it on anything.
