  1. 1. Joel Sherman indicated that the Angels are still "engaged" in the pitching market. Do they sign Odorizzi? Explain your results and what the outcome means.

He's a hardcore Yankees fan.

Jomboy looks like one of the Doritos/Axe smelling douche bags you see in the outfield stands in Yankee Stadium that spill beer on themselves and others while mocking a child with down syndrome.

do you actually believe that the Yankee fans hate the Angels more than they hate the Dodgers?  If I had to guess this is their list of hated teams in some sort of order:

Red Sox

Dodgers

Astros

Maybe the Angels

I doubt most give a crap about the Dodgers. They literally never play each other. I think you're also missing the Mets. I think they hate the Red Sox by far the most, though.

I guess he’s sitting out the season at this point.

I mentioned this yesterday but he may be waiting for a team that's competitive to lose one of their top tier starting pitchers in hopes of getting a better deal.

I have no idea what’s happening but his price won’t go up from here, he just might have another buyer that he favors that comes into the picture.

I'm telling ya..... Jo Adell and Brandon Marsh need to have a channel and pump out some content together. That'd be a super fun channel since they'd relate heavily to the newer generation.

This year's FA market for pitching was fascinating in that it appears teams began to value pitchers differently, for the first time in maybe three or four years.

Kluber and Smyly get 11 million, while Quintana gets 8? Archer gets 6.5 million while Matt Moore gets 3? Paxton settles for 1/8, Tanaka goes back to Japan? The top Japanese starter stays in Japan to make less money than Garrett Richards in 2022.

I'm guessing Odorizzi and Hamels remain unsigned because that's the path they've chosen. I bet both have received lucrative offers worth taking but instead are holding out, which is their choice and they shouldn't be villified for it. In Hamels case, it could be more about recovery too.

But why Odorizzi remains unsigned is particularly interesting. Perhaps he thinks he's with more than 3/30? Though I doubt any such offer exists for him at this point. He waited too long to sign and now teams are more set than they were two months ago.

If true, I don't understand it. If I'm a player, I'd like to be acclimated as quickly as possible. I definitely wouldn't wait for spring training to make a decision. I know he's training independently but there has to be a great advantage to stability.

But if Odorizzi is looking for a 3-year deal at xxx price and no team is close on meeting his demands, it may behoove him to wait it out until a team is more motivated to meet his asking prices because they have a need to fill.

I actually feel sorry for the guy.  This is painful to watch.

Likely would have had at least 3 year or 4 year deals available to him last year.  But instead, took the QO last year at $17.8m.  I am guessing he and his agent probably thought he'd be in line for better offers this offseason without draft pick compensation being attached to him.

Oops.
