  1. If all it takes is 11 loses, then I say that'll happen in the next 14 games.
  2. I hear ya, but I'm not sure Detmers has that type of control.
  3. If you could get a guy to throw only 90-92 mph and save that 96+ for maybe every 5-6 pitch, it would keep hitters off-balance more. I also think more pitcher need to learn better pitch combinations. By this, I mean, pitches that look simpilar but have slightly different movement. 4-seem to 2-seem, 4-seem to slider, slider to cutter etc... Mastering changing speed with every pitch gives you countless combinations, that if you can control well, make it near impossible to hit.
  4. I agree. I may be wrong on this but I think that too many in this organization, as well as baseball as a whole, focus primarily on velocity and not control.
  5. Some guy with the Padres throws one; cant remember his name.
  6. It doesnt take a genius to see that none of these pitchers control the zone. All struggle hitting their spots.
  7. Its not about getting market value. What does that even mean in Ohtani's case? Its about getting something as opposed to getting nothing.
  8. He surrendered against Garignak and ran away.
  9. should send him to single-A for the remainder of his contract.
  10. My quick opinion is that all hiters swing for the fences so runners dont move and pitchers are more concerned with velocity rather than location.
  11. OK, only the Orioles have a winning record. Both Boston and Seattle are around .500
  12. Strider, like the Ranger from the North? Sorry, had to go full Lord of the RIngs.
  13. So realistically we can win 1/4 with game 3 our best shot. This team hasn't faired well against any team with a winning record thus far.
  14. Story of Canning, Suarez, and Detmers. Any adversity and they are done. I'd see if I could package them to a sucker for something.
  15. Winning was nice but still had only 1 good pitching performance in the series so I think we know where we stand.
  16. IN the case you outline, I think you must trade him. Cant let him go for nothing.
  17. Exactly, it would take a fool not to recognize that their approach has definitely changed since even last year. You cant let pitches go by that you can hit hard. This is especially true when you are in a position where a runner needs to advance. Advancing runner is almost non-existant with this team.
  18. And the manager. If he becomes aware of a problem, its his job to get his coaches in line.
