Agree with all you said but I'd add that the bullpen cant get anyone out. I think that out of all the losing they have done this year, at least 1/2 has been due to bullpen. Loup and Tepera, who both have been good for 2-3 years in a row, now suck.
I agree, the bullpen comment didnot make sense. This bullpen can afford our SPs the luxury of only going 5 innings. This will allow pitchers rest and the ability to keep their best stuff through Aug and Sept.
I can repect that but dont you think that BB is somewhat dependent on the team you are on. I guess I over-value moving running more. But overall, I think you are right in that higher OBP means they are not making an out.
I get you but I think that a high on-base without high BA can be fleeting. But he has seen a decline in his numbers each year. So the A's are betting this continues. Either way they got 3 pitchers and 1 mid-inflield for him.
That's what the A's do. They just unloaded Matt Chapman, a career .240 hitter, for 3 pitchers and an infielder. They get rid of their average for a chance at better, we dont.
I agree. Plus unless we are talking about the last several games of the William's season when the anticipation was high, the DiMaggio streak would have been non stop excitment.
