Well, last year he was making $10M and he had an option for $14M. So any team that would have traded for him at the deadline would have to give something up to get him for 2 months and then pay him another $1M to decline his option.

And Calhoun is worth that. He could have added depth or helped a playoff team. Dude is at least a 2 bWAR player. Oh well.

That's he's a 2 WAR player?  Maybe Eppler just didn't want to trade him. Pure and simple.  I find it incredibly difficult to believe that absolutely no team wanted him.
