Eppler made some comments that MLB has rules about announcing things on days where post season games are being played. My guess is once there is a break in the action it gets formally announced.

Early on in the process, I think I remember reading a tweet that alluded to some further coaching tie-ins with the 2002 team, and how Maddon was interested in bringing some of those guys with him. 

Certainly, this could already apply as Wooten and Molina are already on the MLB coaching staff, but I wonder if we might see another name or two join the staff...perhaps Mickey Callaway takes a break from managing and returns as pitching coach? Maybe we see Erstad as bench coach? Ron Roenicke returning as bench coach?

Also saw that the formal press conference isn't imminent, perhaps this gives them time to make a couple other coaching hires and hold a nice, big, nostalgic 2002 reunion press conference to get past the recent negative news and, you know, turn the page.

Then they can recreate this picture when we win the championship in 2021
