Certainly, this could already apply as Wooten and Molina are already on the MLB coaching staff, but I wonder if we might see another name or two join the staff...perhaps Mickey Callaway takes a break from managing and returns as pitching coach? Maybe we see Erstad as bench coach? Ron Roenicke returning as bench coach?

Erstad left Nebraska to spend more time with his family. I highly doubt he quits a head coaching job to become a bench coach a thousand miles away.

Just speculating. It is convenient though now that he isn’t at Nebraska, and money can move a family to SoCal. Things change. Maybe Percival? Maybe Callaway?  Maybe no one else, or new roles for Wooten or Molina.

I think @Jeff Fletcher got the story first.  Awesome Jeff !

That's a little murky.

Jon Heyman had that "it was close" first. I think I was the first to have an actual story, and not just a tweet, that said it was happening, but even that story initially said "nearing a deal."

It's all bunch of nonsense that 99 percent of fans who aren't looking at Twitter every second don't even care about..

Unless drug use is a lot less common than I suspect, I tend to doubt it will directly affect signings. But I don’t think Maddon will be signing and getting a press conference or this will dominate the questions.

Only reasons I could see this becoming a issue is if I’m completely wrong about how widespread the problem is, if there’s evidence taking it up high into the organization leading to big names getting banned, or if the publicity is bad enough that guys like Maddon and Cole don’t want to get mixed up with it.

How in the heck are the Angels supposed to convince Maddon or any major free agent to sign with the team, or even return to contention with this hanging over their head?

This is what I'm thinking. Is Maddon going to want to be anywhere near this org?

Why would Maddon want to sign on to this mess? I don’t see any FA signing either. Arte needs to clean house starting with Carpino and Eppler, and of course Kay.

This is the worst case scenario for this team at this time.

What this also tells us and the sports world is Arte wants to win and he wants to win now. No more of this one year rental shit. We are going big this offseason and this is the proof right here.

This.  I think we will spend a significant amount of money to improve our roster this offseason.

I'm predicting Cole + Ryu.
