If not Maddon...

I think most of us would have Maddon as our top pick for Angels manager at present. But there are no guarantees, obviously. 

Who would be your second pick (being realistic - Scioscia isn’t coming back, and, given his history, Washington isn’t happening either)?

I haven’t heard him brought up much, but I’ve always though Jeff Bannister was a solid manager. I’d be okay with Girardi also. Most of the other candidates don’t do much to excite me.

Im going to wait and see who else might be out there but right now, for me, its Maddon or bust.  The only reasons they go in any other directions are no choice, or they arent actually planning to make any bold moves so whoever it is doesnt matter, but if that were the case why fire him?

I think they want experience. So as much as I would like to see Chavez, I don't see him being more than a third base coach or a bench coach. I'd like to see Maddon as manager, Ebel at 3B, Chavez on the bench, Searage as the pitching coach and Sorrento and Reed as the hitting coaches.

But if not Maddon, my guess is Girardi, because of his success and rapport with Eppler.

If they can’t get Maddon, I heard Ausmus is available.  Of course he would have to pass a written test.

He would’ve been a much better choice than Ausmus. Unfortunately, he won’t be available until after the Braves get eliminated.

I think Eppler said he's looking for someone with Major League managerial experience, so if not Maddon, probably Joe Girardi from Eppler's NYY days.
