According to this article on MLB he is now retired. https://www.mlb.com/cut4/john-lackey-comes-back-to-wrigley-field/c-296342044

John Lackey ranks 35th in all time beanballing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_career_hit_batsmen_leaders (quite a few former Angels on that list lol)

If they had signed him as a FA reliever, I bet he would have pitched better than Noe Ramirez who serves up meatballs on a silver platter.

He threw one of the coolest Curveballs ever. I liked when he went crazy on the mound, it always seemed to fire up the team & they'd come back to win somehow.

Love him or hate him, he's one of the greatest Angels of all time. He took the baseball in the biggest game in franchise history and threw a gem. He was also the ace of the staff for at least half a decade after that.

Congrats on a great career and thanks for the memories, Big John.

He was alot of fun for Deaf fans who could read lips to see what he was saying to Scioscia & the Umps.

We could use a guy with Lackey's demeanor and talent. He was a fiery competitor. Giant dick, but hard not to love when he was here. Weaver was the same way. Our pitchers seem to be a bunch of pansy-asses now.

Yep. He was also the honcho during the good years. One of the only guys who could police the whole team, not just the pitchers or hitters.

Lol, from  an MLB.com article today....

One of the newest retirees from that group is John Lackey, whose 15-year career ended in 2017. How has he spent his first year with no baseball since childhood? Dressing up for horse races, spending quality time with his kids and adopting an adorable dog, naturally

John is a dapper fellow. Loves to look nice at the race.

I come home from work and find all you good -for-nothings horsing around. Quit foaling around and do some actual work or hand over the reins to someone beneath you who has some sort of ambition!
