LOL

No one is dying here but the Angels are probably my number 1 source of entertainment and I can't help but feel that the organization has been taking advantage of fans like me for too long now.

How does that old saying go..something like "shit or get off the pot"?

The time has come for the Angels to do something.

Just make Ohtani the closer once he is totally ready to pitch again.    Then he can bat pretty much everyday, and have a huge impact in an area of TOTAL NEED.

AND, his arm isn't burnt out so soon.

Imagine his heat with movement + splitter closing games.  Mo Rivera potential?

I don't know about Rivera, but he could be among tops in the league easy.

I totally mentioned this the other day. It helps where our team needs it most.

You need a new main source of entertainment.

Ever tried booze, coke, and strippers? I could refer you to a guy...

I'm not going to read nine agonizing pages of this, but from what I understand, best-case scenario and he's out 2-3 months. That's the rehab process for a grade 2 UCL sprain that doesn't require TJS. Worst-case scenario and he doesn't pitch until 2020. Maybe there's a middle ground where he's shut down for the year and rehabs with stem cells for 2019.

For me the big question is whether hitting follows the same timeline. I could imagine a scenario where he has TJS, doesn't pitch until 2020 but starts hitting again sometime in 2019.

Geez man. Much respect. I guess I'm on the younger side fan wise compared to a lot of people in here. Started following in the 90's and didn't have to wait all that long compared to a lot of you guys. It's crazy that 16 years have already gone by since 2002. Aside from that title, this organization is pretty much the Clippers.

So basically no home run derby,  bummer.

I think wangin makes a small point here. The Angels have been much more successful than the Clippers have been but we (the Angels) have played second fiddle to the Dodgers just like the Clippers have played second fiddle to the Lakers only we've had the second seat much longer!

I did read on Wikipedia that where rehab is a year for pitchers, it is six months for hitters. So assuming the worst, maybe we have this timeline:

2018: Injections, re-evaluate, surgerly sometime in late season.

2019: Comes to spring training, gentle rehab. Sometime in the first half he starts hitting, is full-time by second half.

2020: Starts season as two-way player again.

2021: TJS, Part 2. Just kidding.. We'll say Cy Young and/or MVP.
