I'll say if the Angels don't make the postseason this year, assuming if everyone is healthy or almost everyone, then he's not coming back as Angels manager next year. He did a very good job last year. as I've stated before, considering the situation that he was put in, but he's got a bigger challenge this year with a roster with even more talent than last year's team.

But but but in 2000 in a game in May against the Blue Jays in the third inning, he asked Ersty to sac bunt with no outs and a runner on second and it FAILED MISERABLY! The halos won the game in the 11th, but should have won without going to extra innings. FIRE SCIOSCIA!!!

ANGELS REPORT : Manager List Narrowing

If the Angels are very interested in Chris Chambliss as their next manager, it appears they will have to move quickly.

• New Brewer General Manager Dean Taylor has told Brewer management that he would prefer to hire Chambliss, who worked with Taylor when both were with the Atlanta Braves, as Milwaukee's new manager. Chambliss managed in the Braves' minor-league system in 1991-92, and he and Taylor became close friends. Also, former Brewer general manager Sal Bando recommended Chambliss after his reassignment within the organization.

Already in contact with former Brewer manager Phil Garner, the Angels apparently will not fight the Brewers for Chambliss, who interviewed with Bavasi after the 1996 season, when Terry Collins eventually was hired.

Chambliss previously interviewed for eight open managerial positions, received none of them, and appears to be on a level below Don Baylor and Garner on the Angels' list.

Rick Down and Mike Cubbage, candidates the last time the Angels went through the search process, apparently will not be considered.

Scioscia is the best manager this team has ever had; but, he does need to control his temper more.

There's no need to fire Scoscia.  It's the final year of his contract.  If we underperform this year, then we can easily just not renew his contract and move along to another option.
