Bottom line you cant just go back and erase Hitler and assume noone would have assumed that role or the horrific things never happen.  
I personally have always felt Hitler was a bit of a puppet.  I mean lets be honest how can a guy like that who so completely didnt match the so called standard of the master race rose to power has always made me things someone else was making the calls and he was just the face of it designed to take the fall when it failed.
Kinda like most American presidents in the last 50 years. 
 Its just something ive always found interesting historically that never made any sense whatsoever.
