Look, if you all want to be Eeyore go for it.  Arte signed a pitcher with tremendous upside to a $21 million deal today.  But that doesn’t stop the bitching.  One thing Arte has been successful at is turning fans into victims.  Well done Arturo

A pitcher with two innings pitched the past two seasons, plus generally TJS pitchers pitch okay their first season back.   They spent $21 million for probably just okay.

Can anyone name a TJS pitcher in the past who had a season worthy   of anywhere nears $21 million in today’s dollars?

Canning was drafted 4.5 years ago from a major college baseball program, and still hasn’t accomplished a whole lot yet.   When does that start?

Didn't pitch as a pro the year he was drafted.   Has pitched a total of 131 innings in the minors.  Was forced to pitch at the MLB because the team had no other options.

Compare him to his draft mates  http://www.thebaseballcube.com/draft/year/byYear.asp?Y=2017
