  1. Saw Bob Oliver crush a deep homer late in an extra inning game in '72 with Bobby Winkles managing. Oliver's homer was the deepest fly I saw until Alex Rodriguez came along and routinely crushed bombs again us.
  2. Sign Scherzer and enjoy the ride. It's not our money... and just like Arte, none of us is getting any younger
  3. Unless he sees a FA that will bring in gate, then he tells the GM to jump.
  4. Mariners manager Scott Servais has been Jerry DiPoto's guy for 10 years, including his stint as Angels' Asst. GM. Do spill the beans on the Seattle clubhouse issues. We love good gossip.
  5. If Noah can pitch half as good as he talks shit we have a stud in the rotation.
  6. There are no such thinks as non biased takes. That is code for the opinions presented don't piss me off.
  7. That report fires me up! To hear the respect of a GM that is passionate, quick to the draw, and knowledgeable is GREAT!
  8. @arch stanton Great post so apropos of this topic. Also one of my all time fav's.
  9. The Great Doc Holliday ain't new and not no huckleberry neither. Purdy good avatar .
  10. Liked Ervin but his MLB debut was pretty ragged. Gave up "the cycle" to the first 4 Cleveland Indian batters. Watched on the hospital TV while waiting for granddaughter #3 to be born. https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/2020/05/tribe-cycles-through-ervin-santanas-debut-on-this-date-in-cleveland-indians-history.html
  11. For me the '76-77 off season was the best. Signings of free agents Joe Rudi, Don Baylor and Bobby Grich gave the long suffering fans a huge boost.
  12. I agree. But still I wonder, how did Cub fans handle their futility for years?
  13. I'm okay with Canning starting for another team. Tired of the tease.
