For the first time on record, Americans are more likely to die of an accidental opioid overdose than in a motor vehicle crash, according to a new report from the National Safety Council.

The group calculates that the chance of dying from an opioid overdose has increased to 1 in 96, surpassing the odds of dying in a car accident, at 1 in 103. It's also greater than the odds of dying from a fall, a gun assault, pedestrian accident, or drowning.

In the past few days two Parkland students and one of the fathers of the Sandy Hook kids have committed suicide.

My wife's best friend survived the San Bernardino shooting. Everyone that she was sitting at the table with died. She left without a scratch. Needless to say, it's been a tough road for her but she is getting better, mentally. It takes a strong support system.

That's awesome. I heard the gun jammed too. he may have scared the gunman enough for him to screw up his rifle

Only one death and no AR-15 was used. It doesn't quite fit the narrative. An 18 year old male and a female juvenile in custody.
