Do you believe people should be arrested if they don't comply?

I'm not saying I support confiscating guns that people already own. I'm just trying to understand why someone would choose to "protect their family" with a gun that can mow down a crowd of people.

Seriously, you should go to a range and shoot some. They are fun to shoot as well.

If a crowd of people was coming after your family, this seems like the kind of gun you'd want to have then.

So does them being "fun" legitimize them being legal?

That and some people prefer them for self defense. To say they are not a good and viable option for self defense is naive. Much easier to operate than a handgun. 99.99% of people the buy them do so for reasons other than mass murder

I, for one am appalled... appalled I tell you, that those hospital patients weren't armed to shoot back today.

Another banner day for the NRA and second amendment fans defending their right to murder innocent people.

But it was in Chicago, so it was obviously Obama's/the Democrats' fault.

God forbid they have to drive a half hour to Gary Indiana to walk in and buy a gun instead.

I agree that driving a half hour to buy a gun is no big deal.

Also, having to drive a half hour to vote is also not a big deal.

All gun purchases must go through a licensed FFL in their state of residence. That means the Indiana dealer must ship it to the FFL in Illinois
