What makes you think they’ll sign another front line starter???? Who knows how much Cole is gonna go for at this point...

Not nervous yet. Confident in Cole and another starter, either Ryu or Madbum.

Have always felt Cole + Ryu the way to go.  Ryu won't cost a pick, so we "only" give up a 2nd rounder and hang onto our 3rd rounder.

I know people are saying there’s plenty more pitching out there but we really needed this. We aren’t getting Strasburg and Cole so not getting Wheeler hurts. Have to bank on someone like Ryu or Bumgarner now.

If the Angels sign Cole, they aren't signing another front line guy.  I'd be surprised if Arte commits to spending $200+ on Cole and then another $100M+ on someone else. Likely would be Cole and then some 2nd/3rd tier guy for under $100M. Still think they end up trading for a SP and then going all out on Cole

Kluber ($17.5 mil this season, $18 mil option for next season with $1 million buy out) may be on the table as the Indians retool and need cost affordable help on offense.

Take a shot at Boyd and see if the price reasonable (but I wouldn't give up Marsh in something like that)

Robby Ray with DBacks

Maybe buy low on someone like Kyle Freeland

Samardzija for one season

There are options to fill out the rotation if they can get Cole signed.

As good as Ryu was in 2019, he doesn't have a history of durability.   2019 was the first season in the past 5 where he exceeded 130 innings.

Thoughts on the Japanese pitcher, Yamaguchi?
