Verlander is a lot better than the numbers suggest. Plus, as we've seen with Upton, they partly just want financial freedom, abdvwont require the best prospects. 

We might be able to land Verlander just by taking on his contract and sending Barria.

You're probably right, but like...that marte valbuena platoon feels like a bad choice intuitively.

edit: Actually, we were already three games into that amazing run when he hit that walk-off on the last Sunday of April. Monday was a travel day, then we beat Cleveland on Tuesday by the score of 21-2.
