What's funny is he rejected a trade to Atlanta in the offseason and then like 5 months later got traded to them anyway

I would assume they would use Cowart as a utility defensive replacement, if we don't trade him to the Braves in this deal.

It's September so we have expanded rosters. He'll likely be bench option at 2B/3B.

The #Braves and #Angels are waiting for Brandon Phillips' decision. The #Angels are on his no-trade list. It's entirely his call now.

He's probably at the point in his career where he just wants to play close to home and finish out his contract.

Phillips has always been a very good defensive 2B. Won 4 gold gloves and is still a plus defensively this season even at his current age. He'll form an awesome MIF duo with Simmons
