Wells was an impact bat? You do know that there's much smarter people in the FO now than there was when the Wells trade went down, right?

If you can get a guy like Cespedes for a package headlined by a B level prospect like Ellis or Tropeano, you should do it, if not then pass.

The team saw him as that. My point is when you make deals like that out of desperation, bad things happen. Would much rather we focus on the bullpen instead of doing something like Cespedes.

Iannetta has a .797 OPS since May 1st. That's three months of pretty well above average offense from our primary catcher.

I think he's taken too many hits to the melon to actually play C -- but Jaso would have been excellent in that role.   He cant hit lefties to save his life, but still a really good bat to pair with another catcher.

What the hell is an "impact bat"? Do you guys mean "big bat"? Because I consider David Murphy (who has a higher OPS than Gomez) to be an impactful hitter, just in a different way. I agree that we could use a big bat to hit 5th, but some of you are acting like we haven't done anything at all, and that is asinine.
