So WTH really happened to this Malaysian aircraft??

Recommended Posts

Is it possible an emergency on board was developing which caused the need to turn around and then sometime after making the turn pressure was lost and the plane descended? It doesn't say how much time passed in between the turn and the altitude drop. It's possible they were attempting to return due to an escalating situation when things got real escalated. If the rapid depressurization occurred after the turn then that theory still makes perfect sense.

Aloha from Flight 243.

This is the most amazing cross pacific flight disaster that I remember where the plane looked like it was hit by a missile and they only lost one person, a flight attendant. Luckily this happened only 14 minutes after take off and everyone was still strapped in. It did not affect the avionics or communications and somehow passengers still stayed alive at 20,000 feet with the scant amount of oxygen at that altitude.

Anything can happen up there.

There doesn't really seem to be a good reason to fly out into the middle of the Indian Ocean.

"Sources close to the investigation" have told the UK Telegraph that it was a suicide mission and well-planned. The plane was flown "in a rational manner". No malfunction, no fire, etc.

Maybe if they can figure out why in thunder that flight to china was found off the western Australian coast then they can start to figure out why the transponders were turned off and there was no emergency distress call.

I agree that the path and the silence had to be intentional because no malfunction that completely eliminates all your communications and location systems would leave the jet airworthy for 7 more hours. Maybe somebody wanted to be the guy who actually made a 777 disappear without a trace. Maybe miscalculated how far the fuel could take them. Maybe he left his suicide note orally on the flight data recorder.

You would have to have compliance by the copilot and navigator or take them out. Suicide or setting the record for biggest douchebag on the planet just doesn't work in this case because of flight time. It is looking more and more like gross incompetence by the entire flight crew that have the licenses and hours of flight time but no clue how to use celestial navigation to find China.

Holy hell, Malaysian Airlines is offering $5,000 to each family for a member lost on flight 370. Do they have any clue how obnoxiously crass that is to say to those that lost a family member due to their incompetence? Your husband, wife or child is worth the price of a round trip ticket in first class. Malaysia Airlines is going to be sued out of existence.
