He made me laugh today... kept repeating Trumbo's HR totals and the W/L record of Skaggs and Santiago.

That Roger lodge show was brutal.  Most of the callers and even Roger and the other guy are so misinformed it's sad.  Some callers wanted Dipoto fired or to resign.  Total wackjobs.

No, Schugel was way down on the depth chart. Skaggs and Santiago are major league ready with major league experience. They also have good stuff!

Schugel was going to be exposed to the Rule 5 draft anyway. Skaggs' potential is as high as a #2, I think he'll settle in quite nicely as a 3. Santiago's worst case is the back end of the bullpen.

Trumbo alone did because Schugel was a gonner via the Rule 5 or if not taken, added back to the team. Skaggs and Santiago have #2 and #3 type stuff.

What? The best "pitcher" of the two is Skaggs, who is a number 5 for now. Santiago is easily a number 3 in this rotation.

Seriously. I haven't been a fan of most of his moves but give credit where credit is due.

Dipoto traded an overrated commodity and got the exact return the Angels needed.

This is a baseball move rather than a "put butts in the seat" move.  From a pure baseball standpoint, I'm not sure how you can really criticize this deal.
