Glad they sent Wantz and his 1.78 SLC ERA down to make room for Slegers.  Hopefully they bring him back up after the 10 day minimum to replace Guerra.

Seems like they are trying out players, but in a measured way.  Hoyt is possibly gone if he doesn’t perform this time, as there are other  options.  Wantz is a perfect example.  Maybe Maddon puts Hoyt in around the 5th (hoping Deters makes it that far) and then Hoyt sinks or gets more looks.

Angels have tried to revitalize washed up players, like Eaton, Harvey, Lincecum, and Quintana, over the years and it doesn't work. It's a gamble. If it works, great! If it doesn't, oh well.
