Not a big deal.  He had a 30 pitch limit, and they wanted him to be able to get up and down twice (start the game,  finish one inning and begin the next), which he did.  Next outing he'll be at 45 pitches, and get up and down three times (two plus innings). You have to figure he'll pitch once a week and build up to 90 pitches, assuming health.

We're talking 4-5 more starts at minimum, probably not making him what many think what would be a full fledged starter until right around the trade deadline.

Make of that what you will.

Rodriguez should have started the season in the Minor, and with the stuff we saw from him, he could have been into the Major's as a starter right now!

But, Once again just shows how much Maddon's know.

As much as I am critical of Maddon on a lot of decisions,  can we please stop blaming him for roster decision.  It is the GMs job to co struct the Roster.

No, because Arte has given him some power.  Simply look at all of the guys that were brought in because they had played with Maddon in the past.  That was by design.

Maddon absolutely influenced whether Rodriguez was on the roster to start the season.  To think otherwise is extremely naive.

not sure about this part but he'd be further along.  He needs consistent innings and experience.  At least they admitted their bad decision and are getting him started again.
