Between this guy and LaStella.  I mean, we’re getting average guys.  Having players who aren’t absolute zeros is a significant thing that the Angels have needed to address.  And it’s not gonna cost much of anything.  Hopefully the more significant moves in the pitching area are coming.

Any move to limit Pujols playing is a win in my book.  Pretty sure it'll be an incentives laded contract starting around 2-4 million that can potentially hit up to 5-6 million.  Was a fan of Bour during his Marlins days.

This is great on so many levels.

#1. It gives us a good power bat from the left side, who also takes walks. 

#2. We could see a lot less from Pujols, where he's on the weak side of a 1B lefty/righty platoon at first.

Assuming the deal is on the cheaper side, I don't see how people can be upset with this move. It's not a touchdown but it keeps the chains moving until the touchdown.

It’s better than Marte and Valbuena. He put up 110 OPS+ in a down year last season

 

for all the talk from the higher powers of this board about how Cron was moved because we needed guys who could play 3B too, it was a mistake to keep Valbuena and Marte over him. This fixes that mistake

When Cowart was claimed by the Mariners, we just didn't have a lefty platoon option at 1st. Also Fernandez was cut right? This is his replacement.

And Pujols and Ohtani both may not be ready on Opening Day, so this is insurance.

My guess, 1 year 3.5 M.

seriously makes me wonder if Albert is going to announce that 2019 will be his last season.

Neither guy is allergic to walks.   Both have warts but at least they get on base.

He has always said he will hang them up when he is done. And he's about there. Also, who knows how he is feeling after another surgery?
