....are you and kevinb the same guy? I quoted hin, didnt see if you quoted me earlier.

Anyway, i dont think hes a dick for turning down deal. I thinks its a dick move to turn down that deal.

Its his life and money, so its not for me to say. I just think thats by far and a way a fair deal, given that he so far has never lived up to the hype, and is already being offered to get paid as if he has.

To put it in bigger picture terms, a contract like that is a huge burden to a team...it effects other moves. Thats fine. But its basically saying "300 million isnt enough, pay me more, regardless of how it effects the rest of the team."

I 9 times out of 10 support the player in these situations.i think they should get all they can. But 300 mill is already pretty much breaking the bank. Maybe he wants more years?

Yes. This is my work sn. I understand you saying you think it is a dick move. And maybe he hasn't lived up to the hype that was set upon him at whatever age it was that Sports Illustrated made him the cover. But To say he hasn't lived up to it to some extent is wrong. The guy made the league at 19 years old, has won an MVP has gotten the Nationals to the playoffs a couple times.

So far in his career his avg season is

279 388 512 900 OPS 32 home runs and 32 doubles.

While sure that isn't Trout that is still incredible and has made him a top 5 player in baseball? And he is just 26 years old. I get that 300 million is a lot of money. I just don't get why he would sign the 300 million dollar deal now when free agency is about to start. He has waited all this time to be courted by 15 teams why not get to experience it and see if the bid goes up. If it does he wins if it doesn't and he has to "settle" for 300 million so be it. But to me there's no reason to accept that deal now, it actually makes me like him a little more than I do, because I know if I was in his shoes 300 million guaranteed would be hard to walk away from. But you have to give him credit he has a ton of confidence and he thinks, whether he is right or wrong, that he can get more. We will see if he is at the end of the day.

Ok fine let's not complain about Dipoto anymore. Let's complain about a Pujols instead. Because that's not old at all, and neither is he.

moron dipoto who:

1. traded 2 prospects to ATL for Mallex Smith

2. then traded Mallex Smith and 2 prospects for Drew Smyly who never played game for Ms

3. and now traded Zunino and Heredia for Mallex Smith.

ONLY JERRY Facking DIPOTO WOULD FIND A WAY TO ESSENTIALLY TRADE A BUNCH OF PROSPECTS, ZUNINO, HEREDIA, AND MALLEX SMITH FOR........MALLEX SMITH

Trades Taylor for Lee

Drops Lee

Taylor becomes core piece of back to back NL Championship teams

Cubs are apparently willing to listen on Kris Bryant. He is one that I absolutely would include Adell in an offer for.

100% That guy literally checks off all the boxes. You slide Cozart over to 2nd where he plays better anyway. Perhaps he could come cheaper if they throw in Heyward. Theres a guy who plays LF but can also slide into center if needed.

Separately, Zobrist’s contract is something they’d probably like to shed, and he’d round out the hitter depth too, if they’re hard pressed to save money.

I said it on the premise that it may lower the prospect cost. The guy plays elite level defense, is left handed and plays right field. If that nets you Bryant and you get to hang on to Adell, I would consider it. I don't think that's so crazy.

#Yankees among teams that have spoken to #Mariners about a trade for LHP James Paxton, sources tell The Athletic. Paxton has two years of control left and is projected by @mlbtraderumors to earn $9M in arbitration next season. NYY also on free-agent LH starters Corbin, Happ, etc.
