Don Baylor has passed away

Recommended Posts

I'm not one who get caught up in celebrities or athletes on a personal level, but this one actually mad me a sad.
Baylor was a large part of my formative years as a baseball fan, and one of the largest reasons why i became an Angels fan over say Dodgers aside from proximity was that watching a man like him hit over seeing pitchers flounder and hack.
RIP MVP

One of my favorite Halos of all Time! Met him in 1980 and spoke with him a few times and even talked hitting once at RC#29 hitting school a very nice man. I was so happy when he got a chance to come back and be our hitting coach only to fall and break his leg during the ceremonial first pitch before the game. I thought he should have had the opportunity to come back and coach or manage years before..Sad day.. RIP GROOVE!~

He was also on three consecutive World Series Teams... 86' Red Sox, 87' Twins, 88' A's.........

His Stats in 1982 Playoffs against Harvey's WallBangers

.294 .350 .647

.997    and 10 RBI's in 17 at bats.

He was $$$$$$$ in the Clutch, leader on the field and in the clubhouse.
