Could you imagine another convention.  I just want this to be over all ready.  I accidentally saw 2 mins of the DNC and 3 mins of the RNC. Five minutes of my life I will always regret.

There are meteors, and then there's some really bad stuff. Scientists are looking at an object right now that is 570 billion times brighter than our Sun. Some kind of incredible explosion caused it. If something like that happened within 100 light years of us it would be the end, and it would be quick.

Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida are obviously the biggest states to watch. She only needs to win one of them. Trump might actually take Ohio - the other two are going to be tough. Pennsylvania has gone blue the last six elections, and of course Florida has a lot of brown people. I still think Trump can win but he's going to need to dominate the uneducated white male vote by 35-40%, which is what he's doing in the latest polls.

And yet in the billions of years the planet as existed, that has never happened. The odds of something like that occurring during the brief period of humanity on earth is infinitesimal.

Yes, something that enormous we've never seen, 200 times bigger than a typical supernova. But as mentioned in the story, and considering the entire universe, supernovae occur about 30 times each second. So if something in our neighborhood went supernova, it might be trouble.
