Looks like the Arizona/Leake deal isn't going to happen. Still holding out hope for a Santiago/Lamb deal.

Haha!  I would trade anyone on the Angels not named Trout for Machado.  My second favorite player.

 

Schoop is interesting but not worth the trade IMO.

nate, you wouldn't trade Hector for Schoop? I haven't watched him a ton, but he is 24 and plays two positions we need, and he plays well against us.

He is really just a 2b.  His only full season he had a sub 600 OPS.  Last season he played half a season and had a .788 which is obviously a lot better.  I am just not sure we need to trade Santiago.  He is fine as a 4/5 starter.  Focus should be trading CJ and as much $ as we can to make room for FAs.

I wouldn't mind Schoop, i like the fact that he's 24 (we need more youth) but pitching is at such a premium these days I'd like to think we could get a little more for Santiago. Not sure what else Baltimore has but another guy or two would be nice

Schoop is a right-handed hitter so unless the Angels are going hard after Heyward or Gordon I'm not sure where the fit is.

 

Also, Lind seems like the perfect hitter to get killed off by the Safeco effect

No it will blow when we see the names we have been linked to getting signed, that hasn't happened yet or when we make a move we don't like to "shore" up left field. Remember when we all wanted to trade CJ for Ethier? Imagine the meltdown this place would have if that happened now. If something like that happened and we don't get an impact bat then the Winter Meetings will blow.

Well it certainly wouldn't be a bad idea to go after those guys before we make a move like CJ for Eithier.
