Not sure about this. At least he brings effort.

Honestly they could do worse.  Kaman is a legit center albeit he's over 30 now and had injury problems last year but at 3.2M for 1 year that's not going to hurt them.  Regardless the Lakers aren't a threat with their current roster and there's no move they could make even if Dwight stayed that would have made them a contender next year.

D'Antoni doesn't like true Centers and only uses 3 bench players. Kaman will sit on the bench and rot pretty much every night.

Most likely and the problem with that is all D'Antoni who shouldn't have been hired in the first place.

Dwight would probably still be a Laker if D'Antoni wasn't the HC.

Makes no sense to add players to this team on 1 year deals that don't fit the coaches system. D'Antoni will be coach all of next season at least.

I think the Lakers should sign Bo Kimble, that guy would be awesome in D'Antoni's system.

Signing Kaman doesn't make sense having D'Antoni as coach but neither does expecting to win anything with D'Antoni.  The guy preaches a style of play that hasn't matched up to the elite more well rounded teams.  Phoenix could score 110+ and get into shootouts in the playoffs but they always got beat by teams that could play both ends of the court, were more physical and/or bigger inside and could slow things down.  Yet somehow he's expected to accomplish in LA what he couldn't elsewhere with a much weaker roster.

Who truly made the D'Antoni hiring?    Kupchack or Jimmy Bob?

I can't believe that Kupchack, a knowledgeable guy, would engineer hiring a coach who doesn't know the first thing about defense.

 

Can Kaman and Gasol co-exist?   Or is Gasol going to be traded for sure?

 

Agreed though, wait a year and then throw the bank at James and Wade?   Although while James will be just 29 a year from now, Wade will be 32.

It was all Buss...  Kupchak is a huge fan of PJ.  He still calls him to consult on almost every move he makes.

Channel 7 reporting tonight the lakers have signed Jordan Farmar to a contract.

Always liked him and glad to have him back from Turkey. Hopefully this means the Steve Blake experiment is finally over.
