Not exactly for the reasons you mentioned, but I'm sure that will be capitalized too.

Edit:  Never noticed they got 10 times what they were asking for as now they have a lot of private funding too.  Pretty cool to see ideas like this every day get going with crowdfunding - something impossible 10 years ago.

Downs was good albeit a specialist.  He was also 38 and an impending FA.

 

Not a whole lot of teams are going to give up a whole lot for that.  I think the Angels did about as well as they could have given the realities.

i liked what i saw from rasmus during spring training. i thought he'd be a good middle reliever for us, and have said so earlier in the year when the pen was really struggling. i was concerned for a bit because his AAA numbers were pretty bad, but that is SLC.

That breaking ball he threw for a strikeout was sick. All the guy could do was watch it go by.

In all seriousness, not a deal to really get all up in arms about. They weren't netting much for Downs. This guy is 25, has strikeout ability. With RP, you never know how they'll end up. At least they got something rather than nothing, I guess

 

 

phew, had a reasonable take on the deal at the time. Definitely a win for the Halos a year later
