Downs traded to Braves for RHP Cory Rasmus

Seriously?  A soon-to-be 26-year old reliever?  I mean, I really didn't expect to get much of anything for Downs, but Rasmus is basically just a random dude.

Were people really expecting much? Downs is a FA after the year and is a lefty specialist.I figured they'd get some decent middle reliever for Downs or something along those lines. Guy at least has strikeout stuff apparently(judging by him consistently having more K's than IP throughout his minor league career)

So unless they think they can convert him to SP, they traded Downs for a guy that couldn't beat out Jordan Walden for a relief spot in Atlanta.     Mull that one over for a while.
