So he is the only player living under these conditions?  Or what he says has no merit because he got a signing bonus 9 years ago?

I have no idea. All we have is one guy's story. Do you know more?

Props to those of you who can live off of $2500 a month. My first job out of college I got paid ~$60k and thought I was broke

Yeah, but the 60-somethings here worked two jobs to pay their way through college and then bought a house at age 23.

Of course, their house cost $65,000 at the time, and the same house today costs $650,000, but still, kids these days are lazy and entitled.

Neither of my parents ever made over $25,000 in any year in which they worked.  They paid off their house when I was like 3.  Meanwhile, I made more than either of my parents in my first year out of college (just barely...)--but was only able to save up enough to put a down payment on a house out here when I was 36...It's actually amusing how much people seem to ignore things like inflation, cost of living, etc.

My dad also taught me a good work ethic, which is why I have one. Still, inflation is a thing.

I know.

I was saying people don't talk about the past to show how much money they made, they do so to show how working hard has it's benefits, at the time and in the future.

"When it came to the Angels, who had several distressed minor-league players reach out to the organization this season, the stories Marino and his colleagues heard put the club at the worst end of that scale.

“[They] were deeply disturbing to us, as I’m sure they were to anyone who read them,” Marino said in a phone call Friday, adding, “It’s really disturbing in terms of what it reveals about how the Angels feel about their minor-league players.”
