Where’d the fight go that we saw in the first two weeks?  The energy, passion, fire.  Everyone was having inspired fun it seemed.  Normally stoic players showing emotion...

...was fun for a couple weeks after what has felt like a decade of dull.  Was nice to taste the top even for a little bit.

I might be confusing you with someone else on AW, but were you at the game yesterday?

This team for the longest time now has just been a carnival show pimping out individuals over actual winning to cover up for a terrible product. Gubi reciting Albert's HOF stats every at bat, saying Trout is the best player in the game every inning, constantly comparing Ohtani to Ruth 100 times a game.

I want to win baseball games and focus on the name on the front of the jerseys not the back. When will it turn around? This fucking sucks.

None of what you brought up has any bearing on the actual play on the field.

What does that look like?  Bundy, Heaney traded.  What else?

With this current team? Yes, that's a start. I was more referring to all the times in the past where it should have happened. It's still early but if the team is clearly not playing well and teams have a need for Bundy, Heaney and other guys that can help with the farm, Moreno needs to let it happen. You obviously have guys you keep like Trout, Rendon, Fletcher(unless you get some crazy return), Ohtani, Walsh etc but most players should be up for grabs and then you just play your farm or whoever you get back in the trade and then hope Minasian and company traded for good prospects/players and draft well with the high picks hey have. Moreno could even get back players he traded on expiring contracts like Bundy and Heaney in the offseason too.

Ok but all the times he should have happened in your opinion are gone.  So now what?  Bundy and Heaney and Raisel.  That should get us a couple more Packy Naughtons.

Thoroughly schooled by a professional Tampa team that played with confidence and poise. They embarrassed the Angels with their base running. And were patient at the plate and sound on defense and pitching.

I think they are nearing a point where they have to pull the plug on the team as it is. Ohtani, Trout and Walsh are really the only threats at the plate. Rendon sometimes, but not up to the expectations of his contract.

Ohtani, probably the most compelling story in baseball, doesn't speak English and therefore has a remote presence and seems to be in a semi private bubble. Even amongst team mates.

The defense and base running are bad. We see some good starts every now and then but no one is consistent.

The bullpen is bad more than they are good. Not one reliever you could count on confidently.

Maddon hadn't moved the needle more than Asmus or Sciosa.  No additions have made a bit of difference.

The big hype about Adell has either fizzled or was way too premature.

They plod on, uninspired and uninspiring. If Trout has a bad game the fan excitement dwindles down to zero. And the umps seem to be really squeezing him this year with so many blatantly bad calls.

They've been patching things together for years without becoming an organic whole. Somehow, someway they need a spark. Something or someone to get them in sync, confident and playing at least fundamentally sound ball.

If they are pitching well, they'll bring back better players. It's even better if more teams think they can compete too. Maybe some of our position players that aren't in future plans heat up and are putting up good numbers. I'm not saying do it right now but if players are playing well before the deadline, he should move them.

They won’t really bring back what you think they’ll bring back.  These will be three month rentals.  And as far as position players, here’s the list, tell me who you’d trade.  Suzuki is an an opus yes.  Iglesias is an obvious yes.  Walsh?  Fletcher?

Ironically, it's out pitchers that could bring in some good returns if the Angels have to sell.  If we can't sign them to extensions, we have some valuable pieces for team looking for pitching rentals: Bundy, Heaney, Q (lol, j/k), Cobb and Raisel Iglesias.

Preferably, imo, we extend Bundy.

Then again, this team and organization is miles away and a complete mess up & down.  Beyond true homer fans, does 2022+ look to be any different?   There's so many holes to fill for 2022...on a team that currently sucks.  It's not like there's a ton of sure-fire prospects waiting to hit the grown running either.  A complete tear down makes more sense than anything else.  Every year i hear the same from most on AW that things will be different.  Nope.  The future doesn't look that much better than the current/past.  They need to burn it down and rebuild...slash-and-burn.
